[edit]The Colorado Rockies of the late 70s were an NHL francise, a relocation of the Kansas City Scouts. Perhaps this is supposed to mean the Denver Spurs of the WHA? -- Decumanus | Talk 01:22, 4 May 2004 (UTC)
No, he was drafted by the Rockies, but he only ever played 9 games for them. The page reads correctly now. Moisanite 19:01, December 24 2006 (UTC)
Proper sentence structure is a good thing
[edit]"He has a son, Lyon, born August 16, 1987 by ex-girlfriend and former model Leslie Young, who is developing into a solid young hockey player"
- I am laughing so hard at this....
- The way this person constructed the sentence makes it sound like Mess' ex-wife (or g/f) whatever.... is developing into a fine young hockey player.. ouch.
In regards to Messier being the only man to captain two separate teams to Stanley cups, wasn't Neidermayer captain of Anaheim last season? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.243.70.104 (talk) 17:41, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, but he was not the Devils' captain when they won, Scott Stevens was. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.81.112.109 (talk) 19:24, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
Trivia
[edit]Could would we add to the article, that Mark Messier was the last former WHA player, to play in the NHL? GoodDay 23:05, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
- It was added a long time ago. Ravenswing 03:17, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
Serious clean up
[edit]This article reads like a National Enquirer story. Can we try to remove the fluff and editorial comments and just stick to the facts? I have started, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks! --Tom 12:55, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
I can agree. 150.210.226.6 (talk) 23:56, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
This is simply awful. I can't be bothered to update this garbage myself, but it genuinely needs to be torn up and redone. RoflCopter404 (talk) 03:09, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

He's the general manager of Canada's hockey team nowadays. He replaced Yzerman as GM this should be included!!!
