Baseball players
[edit]Welcome! Please note that you shouldn't add names to the List of Major League Baseball players until their article is active. Also, please include the name you're adding in the Edit summary box; it saves time when looking at the history page to see what's been added. Having said that, it's good to have you involved! [edit]Welcome to the American Football wikiproject
[edit]Hey, I noticed that you recently joined the American Football wikiproject. I notice that in the member section, you note that you are interested in working on articles related to the 49ers. We certainly welcome you to our project, but the focus of this project is to work on cleaning up the general football articles, esp. those related to strategy terms (formations, plays, strategies, schemes, sets, etc. etc.). You are free to help out with those article, but you should really check out the Wikipedia:WikiProject National Football League. There you will find relevent discussions to issues specific to the national football leagues, especially players, coaches, and teams that play there. But we DO welcome and value you contributions to the articles here. So good luck and happy editing! --Jayron32 20:54, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
49ers stuff
[edit]Hey, the 49ers stuff is looking cool. But check out the Wikipedia:WikiProject National Football League. That project may have templates and things already to go. Check with articles in that wikiproject to make sure all NFL articles have a uniform style. If you are interested in general football strategy type articles, be sure to check in on Wikipedia:WikiProject American football We need all of the help we can get there. Check out the discussion page to see what we are currently working on there. --Jayron32 23:21, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
Image:Shawntae Spencer.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Shawntae Spencer.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok ☠ 16:07, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Andris_Biedrins.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Andris_Biedrins.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is either no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use, or else the rationale given is not valid. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 12:12, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Giantsrule! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 199 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Jackson Williams - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Lucius Allen - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Jim Mecir - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Nomination of Jackson Williams (baseball) for deletion
[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Jackson Williams (baseball) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jackson Williams (baseball) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Spanneraol (talk) 22:49, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The article Ben Emanuel has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:GNG, WP:NHOOPS, WP:NCOLLATH. There is no basis to keep this, and it is being used for promotion of the nn athlete's nn post playing career.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. John from Idegon (talk) 05:25, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
The article Tony Bobbitt has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. BostonMensa (talk) 12:54, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
